Ragazzi, ho fatto un giro dalle parti di Attivissimo, così per farmi due risate, e sono rimasto a bocca aperta di fronte a questa foto.

Taroccatissima!!!

L'esplosione è pure all'altezza sbagliata, robe da chiodi...

To tap that kind of talent, Western Union has
purchased large interests in a number of small companies that offer
intriguing technological or manufacturing competence:

"Microwave Associates, Inc., a leading developer of microwave
elements such as waveguides, tubes, and semiconductor elements.

"Technical Operations, Inc., a Boston company engaged in contract
research for the government and industry in computing, physics,
mechanical engineering and electronics.

"Dynametrics Corp., another Boston company, which produces electronic
measuring equipment that possibly could be related to future production
control systems. Such systems might fit into an integrated data
processing system built around a Western Union network.

"Hermes Electronics Co., a producer of crystal filters for
microwave uses and designer of part of the telemetering system for
the Titan missile. Hermes also has done a lot of work on computer
translators that change binary code to decimal readouts.

WESTERN UNION TELEGRAPH COMPANY BUILDING

This 73-foot limestone tower was built between 1945 and 1947. The Washington tower was part of an experiment by Western Union to use technology developed during World War II to replace century old wire telegraphy with microwave transmissions. Western Union constructed 25 towers between New York, Philadelphia, Washington, and Pittsburgh. The Washington tower is the nation’s only architect-designed building built solely as an antenna structure. Created by notable architect and engineer Leon Chatelain, it is a rare remaining structure associated with the nation’s first commercial microwave communications network, which used radio frequencies previously restricted to use only by military radar systems.

Un altro edificio della Western Union, a Dallas:

This structure was built in 1913 for the Masonic Blue Lodge. The Lodge occupied the building until 1919. Western Union occupied the building from 1919-1991. Designed by Lang and Witchell Architects, this building exhibits Egyptian details relating to the original Masonic Lodge. This is the only commercial building in Dallas with Egyptian design elements.
