Ma anche tale dato pretestuoso sembra ormai in procinto di sgretolarsi nella maniera più plateale. Qualora venga confermato con assoluta certezza l'utilizzo delle sonde RS-92, il capitolo potrà essere chiuso sul serio. Già con le RS-90 non si scherzava. Ma le RS-92 rasentano la perfezione. E sembra che in Italia tutte le stazioni ne abbiano ormai dotazione.

The average dry bias increases from about 9% at the surface to about 50% at an altitude of 15 km (Figure 6). This means that the Vaisala RS92 radiosonde will underestimate the amount of water vapor in the tropical upper troposphere by up to a factor of two.

In the lower layer the CFH observations show values above 100% RH (up to 110%, which is discussed below), whereas the RS92 observations completely failed to detect saturation during daytime observations despite frequent passage through clouds.
