While mainstream media sources avoid the uncomfortable topic of HAARP, W. Leon Smith, publisher of The Lone Star Iconoclast, has addressed it directly. In a 2006 editorial "Earthquakes: Global Warming or HAARP" Smith noted that, according to US Geological Survey data, major earthquake activity worldwide has risen sharply and inexplicably since the beginning of the Bush administration. The same could be said of hurricanes and cyclones, as well.
