Sir Stepehn Richard, uno dei piu' importanti giudici del Regno Unito, e' stato incriminato con l'accusa di atti osceni in luogo pubblico per aver esibito nel 2006 in due occasioni i propri organi genitali sulla metropolitana a Wimbledon, il quartiere a sud di Londra dove vive. Richard, che lavora presso la Corte di Appello di Londra, venne fermato dalla polizia il 19 gennaio scorso dopo che una donna l'aveva denunciato per aver mostrato le sue parti intime. Rilasciato sulla parola, sara' giudicato dalla corte di Westminster il prossimo 8 marzo. Sir Stephen, 56 anni, padre di tre figli, ha seguito alcuni dei piu' clamorosi casi giudiziari. Tra questi la causa intentata contro Scotland Yard dalla famiglia del brasiliano Jean Charlese de Menezes, il giovane elettricista ucciso per errore dalla polizia all'indomani degli attentati del 7 luglio 2005 a Londra. Un'imbarazzatissima Alta Corte di Giustizia ha fatto sapere che fino al termine del processo Richard si asterra' dall'incarico.
Sarebbe interessante fare qualche ricerca su come si è svolto il processo, il giudice sembra avere tutte le carte in regola per essere un loro pupazzo....

On September 19, the police appealed against this paltry decision.

The court dismissed the family’s lawyer’s accusations of a cover-up organised by the CPS, stating, “There has been no suggestion and we have seen nothing to support a suggestion that the exercise was approached with any predisposition as to the outcome or that there was anything other than a fair and even-handed review of the case.”
In a written judgment, the court also declared that there had been no violation of human rights. Lord Justice Richards ruled it was a “reasonable” decision for the Director of Public Prosecutions and the CPS not to order prosecutions because they were “likely” to fail.
